It Just Takes a Moment

I met a lady working in her yard this evening. She's a neighbor who loves flowers. She told me that her flower garden was on the Samaritan House Garden Tour next Sunday. She told me this with some pride and then she added, "It's good for my mental health!" For the rest of my walk this evening I found myself noticing things in a different way. Now I've been walking this neighborhood for the past 20 years. Yet, this evening I felt like I was seeing things for the first time. I even took a few pictures of flowers and trees - what I mean to say is that I actually stopped to notice them instead of being focused on how much time I walked or how far I'd gone. I noticed the world around me and it's beauty and the fact that all I had to do was to notice it. And then I thought to myself - "That's good for MY mental health." It's not hard to notice things around you and take a moment to appreciate the moment. Who knows as you take the time to look, you might find something looking back at you!
