The Mental Health & Recovery Services Board (MHRSB) is the behavioral health authority serving Allen, Auglaize, and Hardin Counties. The MHRSB is your hub for the local recovery-based system of care.

The MHRSB plans, develops, funds, manages, and evaluates community-based mental health and addiction services. We do not directly deliver services—the Board contracts with local agencies to provide services and supports.

The Board is funded by three main sources: local levy, state funding, and federal funding. Almost half of the Board’s funding comes from the local levy. Residents’ taxes provided to the MRHSB go back into the community.

We also work hard to bring additional state and federal grant funds into our communities. Our staff then ensure it is spent responsibly and effectively.

Your Board funds a comprehensive behavioral health continuum of care based on community needs. This includes crisis services, outpatient services, criminal justice services, school services, recovery supports, housing, prevention, and workforce development.

We also fund public awareness events like Be Seen With Green and community integrations like the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

You might have heard about some of our crisis services before. The We Care Regional Crisis Center is a 24/7 facility that provides quality crisis intervention, including Crisis Counseling, Diagnostic Assessments, and Medically Managed Withdrawal. It is located at 797 South Main Street, Lima, OH 45804. You can reach the Crisis Center by calling the HOPEline.

The HOPEline is the local 24/7 helpline that connects people to crisis services and the Crisis Center. If you or a loved one are in crisis, call the HOPEline at 1-800-567-HOPE (4673).

The Board also had online, anonymous Mental Health Screenings available. This resource is paid for by public funding through the MHRSB, making it yours to use whenever you need it. Check in on your mental health at wecarepeople.org/screening. Screenings are offered for:
