September brings national attention to two important areas of behavioral health: Suicide Prevention Awareness Month and National Recovery Month.

Suicide Prevention Awareness Month reminds us to know the warning signs, check in with the people around us, and make sure individuals and families know where to turn when someone is in crisis. National Recovery Month recognizes that recovery from mental health and substance use challenges is possible and looks different for every person. It also highlights the role that treatment, peer support, family support, and community connection can play along the way.

As September comes to a close, we want to bring that conversation closer to home by highlighting local resources available across Allen, Auglaize, and Hardin Counties.

If someone needs crisis support, wants to check in on their mental health, or is looking for connection during recovery, there is help right here in our communities. There is hope.
